Exciting News for Those At Least 70 1/2 Years of Age…

On Dec. 17, President Obama signed a bill that extended the advantage of a charitable IRA rollover to non-profit organizations.  The law allows anyone 70 ½ years of age or older the opportunity to make a tax-free transfer, up to $100,000 per year, from a Traditional IRA or Roth IRA directly to the charity of their choice.

Due to the very brief period that remained in 2010, an actual gift made before January 31, 2011, will be treated as if it were made on December 31, 2010.  As a result, taxpayers who make this election may count their gift against the $100,000 limitation on such gifts in 2010 instead of in the 2011 tax year.

This is a wonderful opportunity that friends of Easter Seals UCP North Carolina & Virginia 70 ½ years of age or older can take advantage of in support of our mission.  If there are any questions regarding this opportunity, please contact Bob Frazier – Chief Development Officer at 919-865-8634.
