Community Skills Training, Personal Care and Respite

General Info

Community Skills Training, Personal Care and Respite supports provide one-to-one support for personal care and daily living skills to individuals with disabilities.  Community Skills Training enhances a child or adult’s ability to participate in the life of his or her community.  Personal Care Services are provided in the home and may include assistance with bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.  Respite gives families and caregivers temporary rest and relief.

Community Skills are supports that enable an individual to acquire and maintain skills that will allow them to function with greater independence in the community. 

Personal Care provides supports for an individual around supervision and participation with eating, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene and other activities of daily living.

Respite is a support that provides periodic relief for the family or primary caregiver of an individual by supervising and caring for that individual when the caregiver needs a break of the care giving responsibilities.
